Phoenix Home Remodeling Company: What to Expect Before Getting Started (Part 2 of 4)

This blog post is the second of a 4-part series that will describe what to expect when starting on a home remodeling.

The Construction Process

Construction can be an exciting part of the process since you get to see your ideas transformed into reality.  However, it can be nerve-racking if you don’t know what to expect.  A reputable remodeling contractor will make this process go as smoothly as possible for you.

Plus, much of your work will go according to the plan you and your Phoenix home remodeling company have finalized prior to construction.  Specific terms will also be in your contract.  So, you should experience few, if any, surprises at this phase.

The following phases are typical in a remodeling project:

Pre-Construction Meeting. Before work beings per the schedule in your contract, you’ll want to meet with your project manager at your home.  Other interested parties, like sub-contractors, may attend this meeting as well.

The purpose of this meeting is to review contract terms, discuss project logistics and resolve any open issues.  You should also have any remaining questions about your project answered.

Make sure all interested parties have been notified about your project.  If a homeowner’s association requires anything, or if neighbors might be disturbed, it’s important your Phoenix home remodeling company works with these people.

Finally, you need to establish a communication process if none has been defined yet.  You must be able to contact a decision-maker at your remodeling contractor if anything needs attention on your project.  Conversely, the contractor must be able to reach you if decisions must be made before work progresses.  The process can be as simple as leaving written messages in a standard location for routine items, to exchanging personal phone numbers for urgent situations.
