Consider the Kitchen Triangle When Remodeling in Phoenix

Phoenix kitchen remodelingWhen planning the concept of design for your new space as part of your kitchen remodeling project, you can be creative and take your own individual approach to the style. However, while many aspects of this design and layout are totally up to you, there is one kitchen design and functionality principle you should keep in mind.

Those in the building and design trade often use a term called the “kitchen triangle.” This refers to the three most heavily used items in the kitchen: the stove, sink, and refrigerator. You want to plan the positioning of these three items carefully, as this can play a big role in how happy you are with your kitchen once you actually start using it.

To some extent, certain factors will dictate (or at least limit) where each of these can go. With the sink, for example, you will need to work within plumbing availability, while the stove and refrigerator need sufficient space and electrical connections.

Within those parameters, though, you want to keep function and design in mind. The trio of items should be close enough together to make for convenient workflow, but not so close that people are constantly bumping into each other (this is especially important if meal preparation is often a team effort in your house).

At RW Remodeling, we have done many Phoenix kitchen remodeling projects for our clients and we can give you some helpful insight as to what configurations tend to work best from a practical standpoint.
