2.  Determine the amount you have to spend. Once your project is a true possibility on paper, the next decision to make is whether you have the funds to actually make it a reality. If you plan to borrow money, you will need to assess how much a bank will lend you, as well as what that loan will add to your monthly expenses.

3.  Get quotes from Phoenix contractors. Before collecting project bids (always get at least three), determine exactly what you want, even down to the kitchen flooring material and the type of drawer pulls. By providing these details up front, you can ensure that everyone is providing pricing on the same items. In addition, always ask to see contractors’ recent work, be sure to check their references and spend time reading online reviews about their services.
